Recreational Classes (5 years - adult)

Recreational gymnastics classes are designed to introduce participants of all ages to the fundamentals of gymnastics in a fun and non-competitive environment.

These classes typically focus on developing flexibility, strength, coordination, and balance through a variety of activities such as tumbling, vaulting, balance beam, and bar exercises.

Participants learn developmental skills and while improving their physical fitness and confidence.

Competitive classes

Squads (Invitational)

Recreational competitive Squads train for a series of competitions during the late winter months of each year.

Rec Comp Squads have a series of levels.

Gymnasts can train in their level and compete at competitions against other clubs in and around the central North Island region.

Our Junior and Senior Squads train on Friday afternoon/evenings in preparation for their competition season.

TeamGym (Invitational)

TeamGym is a team performance sport that includes floor, tumbling and mini trampoline routines.

TeamGym displays acrobatic and gymnastic elements to music.

Teamwork, creativity, costume and showmanship all provide the audience with an energetic and dynamic performance. 

At T&GC we have Junior and Senior teams that compete at competitions and events throughout the central North Island.

WAG Steps Programme (Invitational)

Gymnasts are selected to train and compete in the competitive Steps programme (Steps 1-10) that is nationally recognised throughout New Zealand.

Gymnasts perform challenging routines and elements on four apparatus – Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor.

The emphasis is on agility, artistry, flexibility, power and style.

A lot of dedication and commitment is required to train at a competitive Steps level.Gymnasts in Steps 5 and above have the opportunity to qualify for the New Zealand National competition representing the Waikato region.

Recreational Trampoline 

Have you ever wanted to fly?

Trampolining is a highflying, electrifying, demonstration of precision, control and skill. 

Progressive skills are learnt on our trampolines and fast track trampoline.


Class options

Intermediate 7-10 year olds

Parkour/Tricksters

A fast paced class for energetic boys and girls.

A mixture of parkour, gymnastics and trampolining skills. Incorporating elements of running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, and flipping.

Boys and girls will learn to move safely and rapidly up, over, through and under various types of equipment.

Tricksters 6+ years

Recreational Tumbling

A form of gymnastics performed without any specialised equipment.

Gymnasts will learn progressive skills in beginner and advanced classes.

These skills are shown on the floor using tumbling mats and our fast track trampoline for training.

**Gymnasts must have at least one years experience of recreational gymnastics. Must be able to cartwheel, bridge and do basic walkovers to enrol for this class.

Tumbling Squads (Invitational)

During competition Tumblers are judged on the difficulty and form of their routine.

This involves the execution of acrobatic movements such as rolls, twists, handsprings, or somersaults across the floor and on fast track trampolines.

Competitions are held throughout the year in Auckland and central North Island regions.
